An inter-war production Short Magazine Lee-Enfield (SMLE) No. 1 Mk III* rifle manufactured by Lithgow Small Arms Factory in 1920. This is one of an estimated 25,000 rifles made by Lithgow SAF in 1920, with the pre-1926 Lithgow crest as well as the 'Lithgow SHT. LE* 1920" stamped on the receiver beneath the bolt handle.
