- Phenomenal pre-war or war-time German P08 Luger pistol manufactured in 1939 by Mauser-Werke at their Oberndorf am Neckar factory. This pistol is one of an estimated near-one million made by Mauser during their Luger production run between 1933 and 1942, with the slide stamped "42" and the receiver stamped "1939" ("42" being Mauser's covert manufacturer's code and "1939" being the year of production).
- The pistol was likely issued to the German army, as it lacks the alternative police or air force acceptance stamps. The acceptance stamp on it is believed to have been introduced in mid-1939, therefore this pistol is either an excellent example of a pre-war or very early wartime production Luger P08.
- This pistol is in phenomenal condition, with no pitting or rust present on the metalwork, and a finish in great condition. The barrel is in great condition too, along with the grips which only have minor wear to their finish due to age.
- It appears to be entirely matching, with every part bearing the correct serial number ("8104") or the last two digits of the serial number ("04").
- Second World War-era Luger pistols are increasingly difficult to find, especially in this condition. This would be an excellent piece to add to any collection!
