  • A Second World War-production No. 4 Mk. I rifle manufactured by the Savage Arms Company in 1943. This is one of an estimated one million rifles made by Savage between 1941 and 1944 as part of the Lend Lease program to provide the United Kingdom with additional rifles during the Second World War,  with 'US PROPERTY' and "No. 4 Mk I" stamped on the receiver, and the date of 1943 beneath the rifle's serial number.
  • This particular rifle was manufactured for Savage by the J. Stevens Arms Company of Chicopee Falls in Massachussetts, a subsidiary company of theirs.
