- A pre-First World War-production Short Magazine Lee-Enfield (SMLE) No. 1 Mk III* rifle manufactured by the Birmingham Small Arms Company in 1910. This is one of an estimated 30,000 rifles made by BSA between 1910 and 1913, with the royal cypher of King George V as well as 'BSA Co 1910 SHT LE III' stamped on the receiver beneath the bolt handle.
- The butt stock also appears to have the letters "AF" and "D^D" stamped on the right-hand side, which suggests that the rifle may have been manufactured in Britain by BSA but sent to Australia for service, as it predates the establishment of the Lithgow Small Arms Factory by two years.
